Based in Los Angeles, California, twin sisters Seli M. Rose and Selma M. Rose are film business partners who create bold content to entertain and offer certainty with impactful stories and disparate genres that are visually mesmerizing with a global appeal and commercial viability. Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany with a diverse Mediterranean background, and having also lived and studied in London, the sisters provide a fresh POV with proven concepts and an all encompassing message of love, equality, environmentally conscious subject matters and awareness. Stories that transport you into different worlds providing a dose of entertainment, escapism, horror, romance, and discovery. They are tapping into real voices of everyday people showing realism with inherent adventure and unexpected twists while implementing satisfying endings for audiences.
Seli M. Rose
Seli M. Rose is a writer, actress, and producer, and a graduate of LSU with a BA in Drama and Performance Studies. Her training includes completing the Shakespeare course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In LA, she further honed her skills through Studio 4’s Producing and Acting Program, where she produced My Pearl, a film written and directed by her twin sister, Selma M. Rose. The film premiered at UCLA’s James Bridges Theater and was officially selected for the Chandler International Film Festival and the Canadian Diversity Film Festival. With a major in theater, Rose performed in several stage productions in Germany, including the notable role of Carmen, the fiery gypsy who brings about the downfall of the soldier Don José. Her training in LA included studying with prestigious coaches at Playhouse West, Diana Castle’s The Imagined Life, Howard Fine, Margie Haber, as well as working with Jim Hanks, who directed her in a scene for her acting reel. Her work as a producer includes five episodes of the documentary series Life Line Booth, which was successfully distributed by Pivot TV. A pivotal moment in her career came when she received a call from casting notifying her that Ben Affleck, the director of Argo, had selected her for a featured role as one of the stewardesses in the film, which subsequently qualified her for union membership.
Rose also acted in and co-produced the short film Diwa, which won nine awards and received five nominations at various festivals, including the Catalina Film Festival, San Diego International Film Festival, Dances With Films, and the City of Angels Women’s Film Festival. In addition, she co-produced and played a key role in Borderline, a horror film that won Best Thriller and Best Drama, with Phil Méheux (known for James Bond’s Casino Royale and GoldenEye) serving as the cinematographer. Borderline was officially selected to screen at the Fantasy Film Festival in Paris in June 2023. Her television credits include appearances in You’re the Worst, Days of Our Lives, and CSI: Miami. She was also cast as the real-life Princess Jasmine in BuzzFeed’s production If Disney Princesses Were Real, which garnered 26 million views on YouTube and featured in national commercials for Southwest Airlines and Chevrolet. In London, Rose starred opposite Martin Kemp in the UK TV series Casino Casino and won Best Actress at the Open World Toronto Film Festival and Best Ensemble Cast at Asians on Film Festival for Diwa. A passionate traveler, Rose has visited 16 countries and 50 cities, experiences she believes have deepened her perspective as a content creator. For her, storytelling is the ultimate way to experience humanity. Currently a member of Film Independent, she is focused on feature films co-written with her twin sister and producing partner, Selma M. Rose. The duo is dedicated to creating original content and universal stories with a focus on non-traditional, female-driven narratives targeted at a global audience.
Selma M. Rose
Selma M. Rose, a director, writer, and producer from Hamburg, Germany, is a graduate of the UK’s Thames Valley University with a BA in Film Studies and Filmmaking, as well as the London Film Academy (LFA) in Directing. The LFA has nurtured and produced hundreds of filmmakers who have gone on to create their own independent projects and work on major productions, such as Chernobyl, The Irishman, Game of Thrones, Green Book, Justice League, and Alien Covenant, among others. She also attended the London Script Consultancy, focusing on story, technique, and scene analysis, and completed the Raindance Directors’ Foundation course. Selma has directed and written three short films in the UK, including My Pearl, which was produced as part of Studio 4’s Producing and Directing program and showcased at UCLA’s James Bridges Theater. The film was also officially selected for screening at the Canadian Diversity Film Festival and the Chandler International Film Festival. Beyond her film work, Rose directed stage plays at Ela Resort’s Amphitheatre in Antalya, Turkey, with titles such as The Fountain, Superman, Titanic, and the story of Turkey’s famed hero, Nasreddin Hoca. She also directed the German play Der Bürgermeister as part of her college thesis project in Hamburg. Passionate about photography, Selma worked as a studio photographer, personalizing concepts while directing and capturing people from all walks of life. She currently has a pipeline of feature film projects and a TV pilot, spanning various genres with commercial potential, which she has co-written with her twin sister, Seli M. Rose, and is focused on taking them to the next level.
